Our unique, four season geodesic domes offer an extraordinary and unforgettable glamping experience where one can connect to nature, but still have all the luxuries of a boutique hotel. Each dome has 16 ft high ceilings, large panoramic windows that bring mother nature indoors, a well equipped kitchen, spa inspired bathroom, fireplace, queen size bed, private deck with hot tub, bbq and outdoor shower for a cold plunge.

Nalu Retreat is a new and niche accommodation and cancellations have a significant impact on us. Therefore, the following applies to cancellations initiated by a guest for any reason:
Should you need to cancel your reservation with Nalu Retreat, do so within 14 or more days prior to check in date, you will be refunded your full deposit minus a 6% fee.
In the very unlikely event that Nalu Retreat is forced to cancel a reservation, guests will be offered their choice of a full refund or reservation change. Cancelling a reservation is not an action that we would ever take lightly, and would be an absolute last resort in extreme circumstances such as a natural disaster, severe weather, etc ...

Head northwest on Myra Rd, along Porters Lake. Our driveway is located on the next left past the Crowbar Trail parking lot. The driveway is marked with a small blue and white number 1972 sign which is easy to miss, but once you turn in, you’ll see our signage.

Our domes are equipped with all of the comforts of home. We provide you with bedding, towels, luxury shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap.
Nalu Retreat is an all season accommodation, and Nova Scotia has a unique climate that may fluctuate during your stay. Please be prepared with appropriate attire and footwear for changing temperatures. Pack personal toiletries, bathing suits, bug spray and sun screen.
Your stay would not be complete without preparing your meals in your private kitchenette or BBQ. Remember to pack food, snacks and drinks to enjoy!

Once guest’s are inside their dome, they can’t see any other domes. Each dome’s deck has a privacy fence for added privacy.

The Domes parking lot is situated quite close to the domes, with a short walk to each.
The Lakeside Cottage parking lot is situated right beside the cottage. -
Check-in is anytime after 4pm.
Check-out is anytime before 10:30am.For an added fee you can request an early check-in of anytime after 2pm and check-out of anytime before 12pm. Please select this add on when making your reservation.

ONLY NALU REGISTERED GUESTS ARE PERMITTED ON THE PREMISES to maintain the peace, privacy and tranquility of this healing place. At Nalu Retreat there is a two adult maximum per Dome capacity.

Our views are stunning because our property is situated on a cliff overlooking Porters Lake. The driveway is up a steep hill. Once you’ve arrived in the parking lot, it is a flat short walk to Domes 1 and 3. Dome 2 has a small incline that may be challenging to those with mobility issues.

Our Domes are reserved for overnight guests olny. We will be offering a Nordic Day Spa with many relaxing options in the future.

Nalu Retreat is an Adult Only accommodation. Please take this opportunity, at Nalu Retreat, to focus on your healing, free from any distractions and outside worries.

Nalu Retreat is a non-smoking / non-Vaping property. Tobacco / Narcotic products, in any form, are strictly prohibited in the dome or anywhere on Nalu Retreat property. There will be a substantial cleaning charge billed to guests who violate this policy due to the fabric walls of the dome and the absorbency of such odours. Please be mindful that some guests may be on a journey to stop smoking and any scent of cigarettes can be a trigger. -
We to love our furry family members however at this time, Nalu Retreat does not allow pets. In order to maintain the spa-like environment of Nalu Retreat, the domes will be kept to a 2-human minimum occupancy.

At this time, Nalu Retreat is unable to pass the requirements to make these units accessible due to the rugged terrain. We are working hard on making this an inclusive retreat and hope to have a fully accessible unit in the future.
