It’s hard to leave the retreat but if you do: 

Hiking and Trails: 

Crowbar Lake Hiking Trails parking lot and trail head is located at 1800 Myra Road, Porter's Lake, adjacent to our property.

Crowbar Trail has 16.5km of wilderness hiking trails arranged in a number of loops from an hour long to a full day long hike.  

The trail is constructed across a rugged granite ridge landscape and, as such, offers a challenge but a scenic adventure and great opportunity for forest bathing. 

Walking/Running/Cycling/Cross country skiing:

-End of Myra Rd there is a series of trails 3 mins away

-Atlantic View Trail: 

A 10-kilometre coastal greenway that includes salt marshes, headland bluffs, beaches and woodland, Atlantic View Trail is a crusher dust linear trail on a former rail bed.

ATV Trails: located 2 minutes away at the end of Myra Rd.

Rock Climbing / Bouldering: 

-Our Property: At the bottom of our driveway are challenging local favourite bouldering rocks. Explore at your own risk and please practice safe bouldering with your necessary equipment.

-Musquodoboit: has some great climbs 20 mins away. Check out the link below.

Lake Activities:  - 3 minutes North of Nalu Retreat

Porters Lake Public Boat Launch and Lake Access: 2247 Myra Rd, Porters Lake, NS B3E 1H2
Scenic and uncrowded, it’s a great place to take a refreshing dip, kayak, paddleboard or enjoy a day on the boat.

Porters Lake Provincial Park - Day use picnic area, great hiking trails

Surfing & Beaches: 

-Kannon Beach, Halifax Paddle Surf and many more in the area that can provide wetsuits, board rentals and lessons 20 mins

-Lawrencetown Beach - 20 mins

- Rainbow Haven Beach - 30 mins 

-Martinique Beach, a beautiful 5 km white-sand beach - 40 mins
